Debit Collection & Recovery Specialist

Responsibilities

Responsible for credit control and account receivable and debt recovery functionsThe job holder must have a Bachelor Degree preferably in Accounting or any other related discipline with a minimum of 3 years' experience in credit management, debt collection and recovery. Experience in debt recovery under a telecom company will be added advantage.As a Debt Collection Specialist, you will interact with consumers in negotiation for the collection of defaulted or delinquent payments on behalf of our clients. This will involve establishing contact with consumers and then either collecting the outstanding debt in one payment or working out a payment plan.Administer Customer credit vetting and new customers on boarding proceduresManage customer relationship in terms of paymentsEnsure delivery of invoices to customers based on the agreed payment termsEnsure all payment cheques are picked and remitted to Company bank accountsIssue and ensure delivery of payment receipt to customersPerform internal procedures such as booking of payment receipts, processing of credit notes and tax entriesCarry out account reconciliation and reconciliation meetings with customers on payment issuesCarry out telephone and email follow up and ensure collections are done as at when dueMonitor and update collections report.Any other AR duties which might be required.

Job Requirements and Skills

Graduate Qualifications: A First degree Finance, B.Eng, B.Sc, B.Tech, Science or Technology Only from a recognized University REQUIRED.Post Graduate Qualifications: Master's degree or Post Graduate Qualification would be of ADVANTAGE.Previous Work Experience: 3-5 years' experience of working in a finance department with exposure to credit control REQUIRED.Experience: 3-5 years' work experience ESSENTIAL.Certifications and Training Requirements: Relevant Certifications would be of ADVANTAGE
