QA/QC Manager

Purpose

·         Provide professional QA/QC functional support, including developing, implementing and maintaining systems, processes and people necessary to provide a world class Quality Management service and appropriate accreditations for the full spectrum of Nigerdock business lines.

·         Provide stewardship, advice, guidance, assistance and support throughout the business  with respect to the adherence and continual improvement of the Quality Management System, Project Specific documentation and the Quality Assurance Plans

Key aims and objectives

·         Provide demonstrable assurance to Senior Management that:

QA/QC adds demonstrable value to the business.ND operates with an effective world class Quality Management System.Quality Management is embedded in the corporate cultureProject bidding, planning and execution is compliant with our systemsISO 5.5.2 Management Representative responsibilities

·  Steward the promotion of a culture of continual improvement within the Company

·  Assist the Company to create and maintain approved lists of partners, vendors and subcontractors.

·  Facilitate identification and implementation of improved methods and practice by way of effective audit programs

Prime Responsibilities and duties

·         This position will require in depth knowledge Schottel and Caterpillar maintenance (including QA issues). Sometimes deal directly with clients/suppliers on technical issues.

Other duties

·         Establishing and maintaining the Quality Management System, Quality Plans, Forms and processes.

·         Promoting Quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization.

·         Maintaining awareness of the business context and company profitability, including budgetary control issues.

·         Ensuring compliance with national and International standards and legislation

·         Setting QA / QC Compliance objectives and ensuring targets are achieved.

·         Defining Quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff.

·         Identifying relevant Quality related training needs

·         Establishing standards of service for clients on projects

·         Management of QA/QC Managers on various projects.

·         Provide QA/QC input into major contractor specifications

·         Develop and execute project quality plans in accordance with the requirements of the contracts

·         Responsible for Quality input to subcontractor project and quality plans

·         Deliver audit and assessment programme, justifying process improvements, identifying any deviations from standards and procedures and recommending the appropriate actions.

·         Supervise and conduct capability assessment of vendors/subcontractors.

·         Coordinate and manage third party inspection services

Other duties

·         Supporting the Project Management team QA/QC Management team in the provision and development of the project documentation that complies with project systems such as

  Quality plans & reports   Project specific Instruction for project processes.  Establish, agree and communicate quality objectives  Implement corrective measures, as an output of a process/system failure to prevent recurrence  Ensure Lessons learned are recorded in appropriate databases and communicated to all concerned  Compilation of ND ISO audits schedules and compliance to the required ISO standards

Reports

·         Collating and analysing performance data and charts against defined parameters.

·         Collation of Management System Reports

·         Reporting Quality performance and metrics and monthly reports.

·         Produce statistical reports monitoring performance.

 Key Internal Interfaces

·         Nigerdock Managing Director, Project QA/QC Managers / Project Managers. Welding Engineers.

 Key External Interfaces

·         Client QA representatives

 The Person

·         Degree qualified or equivalent  Quality Management professional qualifications with minimum 5 years leading an organisations Quality Management function

·         Oil and gas construction and/or fabrication experience preferred

·         Experienced in managing interfaces and reporting with clients and senior management personnel is essential.

·         Relevant international experience is essential preferably in developing country

·         Ability to provide knowledge and support in development of the QA/QC staff

·         Active leadership in health & safety, People, innovation, localisation, financial responsibility and integrity.

·         ISO 9001:2008 Lead auditor
