Job Description

Work in 50 developing countries in Africa, in Asia and the Americas , said the overall strategic objective of Plan ( 2011-15 ) is to reach as many children as possible, particularly those who are excluded or marginalized with high-quality programs that offer long-term benefits. Plan aims to achieve this by working in partnership with others and high-performing teams whose behaviors reflect the values ??of the company. Plan has a total income of around $ 800 million .

Plan USA took possession of the Centre for Development and Population Activities (CEDPA ) in November 2012 . As part of it has also acquired an operating entity in Nigeria ( CEDPA Nigeria) . This entity is now transitioning to Plan International Inc., which will lead to the implementation of Plan International Nigeria.

To strengthen the presence of Map in Nigeria , there is an immediate need for a country director with extensive experience in business development. This is an exciting role of senior management the opportunity to build and develop the new country program in Nigeria. The Campaign Director will also be part of the West Plan and Regional Management Team for Central Africa , including CD 12 other countries where it operates in plan with the Regional Director and his two deputies .

This position is available immediately and only Nigerian nationals will be considered.

You will:

Demonstrable progressive experience in international development
Demonstrable knowledge as a result of the study , training or practical experience on the key debates on methods and effectiveness of intervention development and emergency
Knowledge of Nigeria ; geopolitical factors affecting child poverty in the country and the political, social and environmental opportunities for change is an advantage
Knowledge of compliance requirements of donors and financial management
Knowledge of programming in volatile environments with good understanding and appreciation of the historical context , security , political environment, economic environment , social / religious and humanitarian situation in Nigeria or in a similar environment .
Proven expertise in the development and management of effective and motivated teams, including remote management
Effectively work with and through partners ( Gov, LNGO INGOs , private entities , etc. )
Communications, comfortable with the media , presenting and arguing a case
Proven analytical skills to isolate and process priorities
Fluency in English

Role Type : three years of fixed-term contract with possibility of extension

Location: Abuja with local authorities and some international travel

Reports to : Regional Director

Salary: Circa U.S. $ 69,000 , plus full benefits
