Broadcast Media House is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for employment into the following vacanct positions:

Studio Director

Job Duties:

    Direct the PCR productions for the Live presentation of News bulletins as per a planned rundown/schedule and for the Studio based News programmes as per the concept of the programme.    Give directions and coordinate with the Production Control Room (PCR) operational crew, the studio camera persons, the studio floor and the anchor(s) for the smooth implementation of a live news bulletin/ live discussion and for the programme production using the Production Control Room set up.    Coordinate with the Bulletin Editor for the implementation of the News Rundown as per the desired plan  and during any special requirements    Operation of the play out server in coordination with the bulletin editor for the correct implementation of the News Rundown.    Take quick remedial action in case of faults arising out of loss of external Live feed or any other technical glitch.    Preparation of duty roster for the Vision Mixers and Sound Recordist for uninterrupted 24x7 operations.    Coordination with Programme wing and Senior Camera person/Camera man for the allocation and utilisation of the studio facilities for the routine as well as unscheduled recording requirements.    Preparation of daily logs of all the live bulletins highlighting the faults and deviations.

Requirements

Qualification: First degree in Social Sciences or its equivalent.Minimum Experience: Minimum of three (3)Years’ experience in on the job or similar roleProfessional Membership: N/A

Vision Mixer

Job Description

    Operation of the Digital production Switcher as per the production needs of Live News production and for Recordings/Live telecast of News Programmes.    Execute the production commands as per the directives of the Studio Director.    Configuration and creation of special effects, clip stores, frame stores, source routing etc as per the needs of live news and recorded programmes.    Ensuring proper quality of cameras and coordination with the Broadcast Engineer/ senior camera person/Studio Assistants for remedial action.    Routine check of all the sources connected to the switcher.    Escalation of faults in the production Switcher to the Broadcast Engineer/ Technical Manager/Senior Technical Manager. Sound Recordist

Job Description

    Operation of all audio equipment installed in the Production Control Room for  live transmission and recording originating from Studio    Ensure optimum audio levels of transmission    Effective usage and maintenance of microphones and their accessories    Coordination with the Studio Assistants for the correct placement of microphones, ear pieces, belt packs  for desired audio output and communication with anchors    Coordination with editing and post production wings for maintaining audio quality as per broadcast standards    Preparation of daily logs related to audio for all contents originating from studios

Requirement

Qualification: First degree in Social Sciences or its equivalent.Minimum Experience: Minimum of three (3) Years’ experience in  related practice

Studio Camera Personnel

Job Description

    Operation of studio cameras for live news as well as studio recordings as per the directives of the Studio Director/ Programme Producer.    Ensuring physical stability and balance of cameras during operation.    Perform smooth operation of pan, tilt, zoom and focus parameters of the cameras.    Creative composition of shots.

Requirement

Qualification: First degree in Social Sciences, Cinematography or its equivalentMinimum Experience: Minimum of three (3) Years’ experience in Broadcasting in related practice

Studio Assistant/Maintenance

Job Description

    Maintain the cleanliness and organization of studio equipment.    Re-organize and move set from studio to studio when necessary.    Assist in miscellaneous needs of those using the studios    Keep the studio camera person and technical team up to date on any studio related problems    Organize and clean studios at the end of each production for the next production    Ensures that the studio floor is free of wire or any hazardous materials

Requirement

Qualification: First degree in Social Sciences or its equivalentMinimum Experience: Minimum of Two (2) Years experience in Broadcasting or related practice

IT Support

Job Description

    Configuration, Implementation and maintenance of office I.T Network   ( hardware and software).    Implementation  and ensuring of network access policies.    Ensuring data and system restore back up    Preparation of maintenance logs

Requirement

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other related   discipline.Possession of relevant Information Technology certifications is essential.Excellent knowledge of computer software- MS OfficeMinimum Experience: Five (5) years’ experience in a similar position, preferably in an ICT environmentProfessional Membership: Membership of relevant professional association is required

MCR Operator

Job Description

    Operation of the Master Control Switcher and related equipments.    Operation of MCR Automation application software for preparation and execution of transmission rundown.    Co-ordination  with Traffic output, Production Control Room for implementing the scheduled rundown of transmission.    Monitoring and maintaining of Audio Video levels of transmission and coordinating with the Technical Department for remedial action.    Perform Daily routine checks to ensure optimum working of automation application and take back up of data.    Preparation and record of daily As-run logs for Adverts and all events of rundown.    Preparation of daily log of transmission events

Requirement

Qualification: First degree in Social Sciences or its equivalent.Minimum Experience: Minimum of three (3)Years working experience in related practice
