Our client, a tertiary institution in Lagos, has set up an independent business outfit to offer expert services in various areas to its local and larger community. It seeks to appoint an experienced professional as:
Managing Director
The Role
You shall be expected to provide both strategic and functional leadership, towards
achieving the organization’s strategic vision, mission and performance objectives.
In this capacity, you will:
• Formulate and review annual and mid-term business plans, budgets and targets
for Board approval in implementing strategy and objectives
• Achieve the financial objectives of the organization in accordance with the
targets agreed with the Board
• Initiate, soliciting, coordinating and participating as appropriate in the bidding for
jobs with corporate, government, developmental agencies and other potential
clients
• Planning and ensuring efficient and effective allocation and management of
resources, liaising with and co-ordinating job assignment of departmental
consultancy committees and project teams
• Providing general oversight of all aspects of the quality, delivery and
competitiveness of the organization’s operations
• Fostering a culture of excellence based on continuous learning and continual
improvement anchored on a philosophy of customer focus, professionalism,
honesty, integrity, and teamwork
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Between the age of 40-50 years
• A university degree with MBA/ Master’s degree in a relevant discipline
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a consultancy organization, at least 5 of
which must have been at senior managerial level
Must possess the following skills and competencies:
• Ability to work strategically
• Ability to work in teams
• Ability to communicate excellently
• Ability to lead and work in an academic environment
Must possess demonstrable expertise in:
• Business Development
• Financial Management
• Project Management and Fund Raising
