Malaria Consortium works with partners, including all levels of government, to improve the lives of all, especially the poorest and marginalised, in Africa and Asia to target key health burdens, including malaria, pneumonia, dengue and neglected tropical diseases, along with other factors that impact child and maternal health.

Malaria Consortium has been in operations in Nigeria since 2008 to fully establish its long term commitment. It now seeks to recruit a programme officer to support projects in its Country office located in Abuja.

Job Title: Programme Officer

Job Description

The Programme Officer will provide operational and financial coordination to the Programme Partnership Agreement (PPA) activities and other assigned projects within Malaria Consortium, Nigeria.She/he will report directly to the Country Programme Manager and work closely with the in-Country Programme Management Team, Technical Coordinator and the UK PPA Coordinator.

Other responsibilities will include:

Coordinate all inputs from the Country office towards completing all grant concept notes, applications and planning documents for PPA initiatives;Create and maintain consultant database to include detailed movement, terms of reference and reports, tracking contract expiration and renewal and provide up to date information on consultants when required;Provide support on filing, documentation, minutes taking and other secretarial assignments during weekly meetings and when necessary;Provide support in the organization of other country office project initiatives, programme or workshops and trainings;Manage and ensure proper maintenance of project registers, development of PPA initiatives progress reports and briefings on the implementation of the PPA initiatives;Work closely with the Finance team to finalise all budget requirements for PPA grants in Nigeria;Contribute to business development in terms of drafting and review of proposals and conducting of field or desk based research;

Qualifications

Interested candidates must have a degree in either Public Health, Social Sciences, Project Management or other related fieldsS/he must have at least 5 years project management experience and demonstrable experience in planning, evaluation, budgeting and financial monitoringThe ideal candidate must be analytic, highly organized, self-motivated with excellent communication skillsCandidates must be proficient in the use of Microsoft office packages especially MS Excel and other relevant database tools

• Post graduate degree in health related or social science field with at least 8 years’ experience in implementation of public health programmes

• At least eight years’ experience of health service delivery and primary health care in developing countries, including experience in planning, organisation administration

Malaria Consortium has got an opening for a Country Technical Coordinator (CTC) to join our team in

Nigeria. The Country Technical Coordinator will provide technical oversight and support to programmes based in Malaria Consortium’s Nigeria country office to ensure that up-to-date knowledge and best practices are used in implementation and that programmes have an internal learning process that contributes to improvements. The position holder will ensure that programmes are effectively technically coordinated to achieve coherent direction and a complementary portfolio. The position holder will play an active role in strategic and technical development and expansion of the Nigeria programme portfolio and will provide technical inputs to the Ministry of Health and other key stakeholders.

Location: Location: Abuja, Nigeria (up to 40% travel)

The successful candidate will have:

Operations Officer at Malaria Consortium

Operations Officer – Abuja

The Operations Officer will be based in the Abuja Country office and will provide direct support to the Country Director in the efficient running of the country office. S/he will provide operational and management support to all Malaria Consortium projects and also manage all relevant documents, equipment and facilities within the country office. The officer will also be responsible for developing and maintaining excellent relationships with service providers including hotels, car hire services, travel agencies, immigrations and vendors. S/he will oversee all procurement activities and consultancy engagement process from start to finish; and also manage the consultancy and procurement database.

Other key responsibilities include;

*    Provide support to the Country Director in the development and roll-out of internal project management systems.

*    Support the Country Director to adapt global value for money (VFM) framework for the country office.

*   Maintain up -to- date record of stakeholders’ activities, events and travel itineraries to ensure efficient service delivery.

*   Ensure information on Malaria Consortium projects is available in the Nigeria page of Malaria Consortium intranet.

*   Source for appropriate venues for seminars, conferences, workshops and other programme activities.

*   Oversee the collation of quarterly project assessments.

*   Contribute to proposal writing, review and packaging including desk-based or field research for business development purposes.

Qualifications:

•          A Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Project Management or a relevant degree in the Social Sciences.

•          Interested candidate must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in project management and financial management involving financial budgeting and monitoring.

•          The ideal candidate must have strong analytical, writing, facilitation, coordination skills. S/he must also be proficient in the use Microsoft Office packages especially Ms Excel and other relevant database tools.
