Posted Position Title:   

Controls Services Engineer

Role Summary/Purpose:        

As a Controls Services Engineer within the Services Engineering team Your role will be to support our clients in their off shore operations, in addition to carrying out essential workshop engineering that includes repairs, maintenance and upgrades, within a predominantly mechanical and hydraulics. In addition you will ensure that any design is correctly transformed into engineering drawings, Bills of Materials, test procedures and ensure manufacturability of design.

Essential Responsibilities:    

This role is based in Nigeria and is not a rotational role

- Provide technical support and guidance to Global Service Team

- Generate work scope and task lists for the unit engineers

- Verify design and generate documentation to meet agreed deliveries.

- Reporting of engineering progress as part of the Daily LOB

- Organizing equipment design reviews

- Identification of technical, schedule and commercial risks

- Support of technical and project execution audits imposed by clients

- Engineering support during after Sales Manufacturing

- Attend close-out meetings/lessons learned

- Integration of Software with Deliverable Hardware

- Testing & Fault finding to ensure quality of delivered software

- Support all electrical aspects of the equipment portfolio

Qualifications/Requirements:    

- The post holder shall have a controls engineering background

- The post holder will have proven Product expertise within the Controls product portfolio

- Offshore, and or Field Service experience would be advantageous but not a prerequisite

- Must be able to communicate effectively - verbal and written English

- Must be computer literate

- Must be capable of multi-tasking and working to agreed schedules and be 'commercially aware' in engineering solutions

· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering is preferred · Prior experience as a Designer with at least six full projects successfully completed is preferred · Knowledge of using design CAD tools and demonstrated experience in use · Ability to understand and implement design lay-outs for overall assemblies and applying drawing standards · Ability to work in teams and achieve targets · Strong detail focus · Ability to work in a global environment · Six Sigma training is preferred · Strong oral and written communication skills · Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Leads a portfolio of PPMs in all aspects of product delivery to include, but not limited to, engineering coordination, hardware delivery from suppliers, manufacturing and assembly oversight, quotations and scheduling. Manages PPMs that interact with the Project Management team, Engineering, Delivery, Operations, Manufacturing, Quality and Customer Support to deliver the necessary hardware to the customer.

Participates in the quotations process for the assigned customers to develop sourcing plans, project execution plans, schedules, clean start initiatives, costing with the Costing estimator/analyst
Ensures that the PPM coordinates and communicates product delivery and cost requirements to the key support functions to meet scheduled shipments in a quality and cost effective manner.
Acts as the contact (internal and external) for the applicable portfolio product group within the project team to resolve project conflicts.
Helps PPMs consolidate and analyze information from Project Engineering, Sourcing, scheduling and the Manufacturing Team Leaders to develop the overall project plan in order to proactively identify issues, mitigation plans and resolve them to maintain product delivery in a timely manner.
Helps PPMs find the best solutions that provide the most flexibility as required due to frequent changes in customer requirements.
Prepares reports for the Project and Proposal Manager including Client Reports such as summary EAC’s and schedule updates, status of deliverables, and potential cost/schedule variances caused by prevailing economic environment and/or client scope changes.
Analyzes the project schedule, monitors progress and highlights potential cost/schedule variances. Recommends Corrective Action Plans for the PPMs.
Analyzes the project budgets, monitors progress and highlights potential cost variances. Independently provides options to PPMs to correct negative variances.
Trains, coaches, mentors and reviews the work of assigned PPMs.
Assists with the development of Engineering and Project Management Resource Plans.

- BA or BS in Business Administration, Procurement, Finance, Operations, Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience. Must have full understanding of Project Management and Business processes and systems. Demonstrated experience in Product Planning and Scheduling required.
- Experience using SAP to perform Planning and Primavera for scheduling desired. Thorough knowledge of organizational structure and inter-relationships between functions.
- Good understanding of Finance, Contract Language (legal, commercial and practical requirements), sub-contractors and other FMC plants.
- Two years’ experience in directly managing personnel in the project management, planning, operations, or finance required.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in Operations, Engineering, Projects or Financial analysis with exposure to the Project Management process.
- Must demonstrate ability to independently consolidate and analyze information from various sources to develop effective overall mitigation plans for project schedules and budgets for multiple projects.
- Must demonstrate exceptional managing, persuasive, negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills in order to interact with direct reports, suppliers and co-workers in a team-based environment.
- Must demonstrate effective report writing and presentation skills and strong organization skills and project planning ability. Must have desire to set up processes to facilitate the product project management functions.
- Solid understanding of internal and external economic factors such as costs, margins, trade-offs and profit impact of decisions affecting the product line’s business.
- Ability to lead multiple projects and changing priorities in a fast paced environment.
- PC skills with proficiency in spreadsheet, word processing, relational database, project management software and Team Center or similar mainframe.

Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Group Risk Management and Control, the main duties of the Risk and Control analyst are to ensure financial controls are properly designed, implemented as designed and functioning as intended.He/She is responsible for data gathering, measurement and analysis of operational, strategic and regulatory compliance risk in the group in order to assess and ensure timely reporting of all issues noted for the GHRMC’s consideration.

Other specific responsibilities are as follows:

Internal Control:

Work with the Risk and Control Manager to conduct risk assessment and control testing across the group.Assist with documentation of operational processes (using narratives and process maps) across the group, maintain a register of these processes, tracking all process changes and re- engineer existing processes where and when required.Focus on continual process improvement, and rationalization of control measures to enhance effectiveness and efficiency of operations and realization of cost savings opportunitiesMaintain and monitor all financial module access rights for all staff across the group.Work with department heads at the subsidiary companies in Finance (including, strategy & planning units) and other operating areas to ensure enforcement of policies and procedures and compliance with the regulatory environment.Ensure all remediation actions are implemented across the group

Risk Management:

With the Manager, Risk and Control, ensure effective management of both Operational risk and all supporting functions risk across the group office and entities including shares services.

Main Responsibilities
Work with the head of Group Risk Management and the unit Manager to:

Coordinate risk documentation, evaluation, and monitoring risk inherent in existing activities, with the aim of minimizing operational loss across Oando Plc and its subsidiaries.Ensure there are business continuity and crisis management plans in place to minimize losses in the event of severe business disruptions. Ensure periodic assessment of contingency plans.Facilitate the periodic Group Risk Management and Control Committee meetings chaired by the Group CFO.Collate all the operations risk register from the entities and group EHSSQ and prepare monthly report for the group Chief Risk and Finance OfficerDevelop key risk indicators and guide the subsidiaries risk advisors on same. Ensure consistency of approach.

Essential Requirements

Good knowledge of Internal Control Processes, and Risk Management.A university degree with minimum of five years work experience.A qualified Chartered Accountant or working towards an accountancy qualification or an Engineer with good knowledge of processes and control.Good knowledge of the regulatory environment.
