Job Description:
1.) The Instructional designer supervises the transcription of lecture notes into e-materials,
2.) He/She will develop sequential work flow for each courseware
3.) The Instructional Designer develops multimedia learning experiences from conventional learning materials. This means, convert written course material into videos
4.) He/She will build on existing courseware to create videos, manual, scripts, e-learning courses and trainings.
5.) He/she will drive the methodology and delivery systems for course content within an e-learning framework.
6.) With the use of video and audio production is an added advantage.

Cardno Emerging Markets (UK) has recently submitted a formal Expression of Interest in being invited to tender to provide Technical Assistances services for the programme “EU Support to Ecowas Regional Peace, Security and Stability Mandate (EU-Ecowas PSS)”, to provide advisory support to the management and implementation of the regional programme, particularly supporting ECOWAS to carry out its conflict prevention and resolution mandate by building ECOWAS capacities in strategic planning and policy development as well as programme operations, management, supervision and coordination.  Tendering is expected during March.

University degree in a relevant subjectA minimum of 10 years’ professional experience working on donor-funded projects and programmes related to governance, peace-building, conflict-resolution and conflict prevention, including a significant number of years in developing countries.Be highly skilled in providing advisory and capacity building services to public sector and civil society organisations in policy and strategy development, planning, programming, management and coordination of initiatives in peace-building, conflict prevention, conflict resolution and good governance.  Additional experience of cross-regional and multi-country programmes would be a distinct advantage.An in-depth knowledge of peace and security sector, particularly a thorough understanding of issues related to conflict prevention, conflict resolution and peace-building, rule of law, diplomacy and mediation processes.Understanding of issues relating to disarmament and control of SALW.Substantive experience working in a similar role in several countries in sub-Saharan Africa is essential – preferably including countries within the ECOWAS region. A skilled communicator with the ability to effectively engage multiple-stakeholders in cooperative dialogue.Previous experience working on EU/EDF projects and programmes would be an advantage.Fluency in both English and French (spoken and written)

We are seeking an skilled and experienced Team Leader who will be responsible for the overall management of the programme as well as:

Capacity development of the organisationProvision of policy and expert adviceStrengthening of programme implementationPreparation/facilitation of EU cooperationPreparatory and ancillary tasks relating to planning, monitoring, reporting on project componentsDay-to-day relations and dialogue with the ECOWAS Commission

The successful candidate should possess the following background and skills:

University degree in an appropriate topic Highly experienced programme manager and team leader with extensive experience and proven track record in leading institutional capacity building and development processes in complex public sector organisations. A minimum of 10 years’ experience providing professional expert experience in building capacity in efficient and effective total programme planning, management and coordination processes and proceduresPractical knowledge and management of grant funds processes would be an advantage.In depth knowledge of EU/EDF procedures and processes, preferably including experience in managing at least one, but preferably more than one, EU funded multi-country programme with a large budget. Substantive experience working in Sub-Saharan Africa in a similar role is essential, ideally within the ECOWAS region. Multi-country, regional programme management experience would be advantageous. Knowledge of the peace and security sector would be an asset, particularly a thorough understanding of issues related to conflict prevention, conflict resolution and peace-building, rule of law and mediation processes. A skilled communicator with the ability to effectively engage multiple-stakeholders in cooperative dialogue. Fluency in both English and French (spoken and written)

The programme is anticipated to commence in September 2014. The duration of the programme will be 48 months based in Abuja, Nigeria.
