Operations Support Manager

Purpose

Support the GM Fabrication and Fab Operations Manager in the general running and logistics of the fabrication facilityManage all activities to ensure compliance with applicable safety, quality and regulatory requirementsAssist in managing and controlling the department budget

Key Aims

Safety of all personnelProvide leadership and support to the operations teamEnsure all work areas are being managed and operated in compliance with HSEQ manual and all relevant policies and proceduresContribute to managing operating cost and implement effective cost reduction measures

Key Responsibilities

In coordination with the various Fabrication Department Managers and Construction Managers:

Communicate on issues that will seriously affect safety, quality, schedule, client relationship or company reputationManage and coordinate logistics issues within the facilityManage all Tool Room personnel in the efficient running of stores and suppliesCoordinate SIMOPS activities with other departments and chair SIMOPS meetingsTrack and follow up on purchase requisitions in coordination with Supply ChainCoordinate with Supply Chain on prioritization on PO invoice paymentsAssist in the identification and implementation of training requirements in coordination with Learning & Development DepartmentMonitor the conditions of facilities, buildings, equipment and infrastructure and coordinate maintenance and repairs with W&F DepartmentEnsure plant and equipment is being made available for scheduled inspection and maintenance Monitor and expedite materials issues and track materials in production and between production unitsMonitor and coordinate segregation and removal of surplus materials and waste from production areasMonitor Key Performance Indicators and be pro-active in investigating the reason for poor performance and implementing corrective measuresIssue reports on manpower numbers and deploymentEnsure work areas are being maintained in a clean and orderly mannerWork with Shop Managers and Construction Managers on all projects to ensure the most efficient use of equipment across the facilityAssist in the forward planning and utilization of the yard spaceHold members of assigned team accountable for work performance as per their roles and responsibilitiesDemonstrate good planning and organization in to day activitiesContribute to the Continuous Improvement Process within the Operations DepartmentParticipate in the proposal phase for new work as requiredAttend/chair meetings as requiredAssist in assessment, training and mentoring of Nigerian personnel in the fabrication department
