Scope of Work
The International Foundation for Electoral System was established in 1987 in Washington DC in USA to provide technical support to election management bodies and other election stakeholders. IFES mission is to deepen democracy by ensuring that election management bodies deliver on their constitutional responsibilities of conducting credible elections. IFES has been in Nigeria since 1998 and has been working with the Independent National Electoral Commission, the State Independent Electoral Commission, civil society, the judiciary and the political parties among several other stakeholders.
BRIDGE (Building Resources in Democracy, Governance and Elections) training is the most comprehensive professional development course available in election administration, and is designed to improve the skills, knowledge, and confidence of both election professionals and key stakeholders in the electoral process. The program is a joint initiative of Australian Electoral Commission (AEC), International IDEA, and International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and United Nations Electoral Assistance Division (UNEAD).
As part of IFES support and assistance to INEC’s Capacity building drive, especially towards the 2015 general elections, IFES intends to conduct BRIDGE two modular workshops for INEC Administrative Secretaries and Heads of Operations. The modules are Strategic and Financial Planning and customized Pre and Post Elections activities. Modular workshops will be held in December 2014.
Job Responsibilities:
A BRIDGE accrediting consultant will be engaged and required to lead the planning, implementation and evaluation of the BRIDGE modular workshops and perform the following tasks:
• Design and develop workshop content materials, including participants’ folders, training presentations, handouts and other materials as needed in collaboration with the other BRIDGE facilitator available and the IFES Nigeria staff;
• Ensure all workshop materials are in place according to the workshop outline and supporting materials (handouts, books, articles);
• Lead the implementation and facilitation of workshops;
• Participate in the evaluation of the workshop; and
• Complete other tasks as assigned by Chief of Party and the DC Program Manager/Officer.
Qualifications:
BRIDGE accrediting status is required for this position. Candidates with experience conducting BRIDGE trainings in Africa, preferably in Nigeria, are preferred.
