Learning and Development Specialist - Orlean Training Academy

This new role reports to the Orlean Academy Manager, providing essential support in first class implementation of in-house training learning and development interventions/outcomes. The successful candidate must have relevant experience in training and development functions in large corporate environments preferably with international exposure.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organized and self-motivated person. Our ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic team player with previous experience of influencing corporate training/HR agendas with senior business managers and proven skills in training design and facilitation.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

Actively involved to design, map/chart overall group training plan to meet identified needsAssist with the annual training needs identification and analysis activities across our partner organizations and develop strategies to close identified gaps.Liaise and consult with other entities' training managers to identify individual, group and organizational training needs.   Integrate identified learning and development needs and ensure these are appropriately scheduled for delivery in line with identified priorities and business needs.Support entities to ensure all functional learning paths are in place and aligned to career planning.   Contribute to the design and implementation of the group Learning strategy in line with the strategic direction to build a learning organization aligned to career paths, capabilities etc.Supports and facilitates the formulation and implementation of processes, standards and policies related to training & learning development.Identify, establish, encourage and promote all forms of on-the-job learning with line managers, and various other avenues such that training courses are seen as only part of a total solution.   Facilitate development programmes to ensure that learning objectives are agreed & achieved.

Allocate financial resources in the most efficient and effective manner possible by applying continuous cost-control mechanisms. Ensures that financial resources are set at an appropriate level to deliver required solutions.Scan and benchmark against other companies to identify key areas of opportunity to    enhance processes, tools etc.Design and facilitate academy courses that will reduce reliance on outsourced training providers but also provide revenue streams.Ensure integrity and consistency of all learning processes within the business

Candidate profile

1. The position requires the jobholder to ideally have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Training or other Business-related field. Senior L&D/OD practitioner with experience of coordinating a corporate learning and development agenda in a large, multi-site organization (Ideally, experience will also reflect provision of training in a MNC subsidiary and/or within a large industrial, manufacturing, FMCG or retail operating environment).

2. Progressive HR experience of 7 years or more and broad knowledge of learning and development preferably in an international context with professional qualification in Human Resources (CIPMN. CIPD).

3. In-depth specialist knowledge in all areas of training design and management (plan, budget, deliver and evaluate a large and varied corporate training and learning events) and experience of applying this knowledge in a very complex business environment.

4. Ability to communicate fluently and persuasively in the English language (in writing, over the phone, by e-mail, reports, meetings, presentations, facilitating focus groups and class-room based learning).

5. Ability to plan, prioritize and schedule multiple project plans and related activities, allocating people and other resources to make sure things happen and work is delivered on time and to budget.

6. Advanced skills in MS Office, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint & Outlook. Use of other HR/L&D Information systems and databases and also LMS is highly desirable.

7. Knowledge and understanding of how new technologies are being used to develop and support corporate learning needs and the challenges/solutions involved in integrating them with traditional classroom based learning
