2015 SPDC Niger Delta Oversea Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme

The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC) is delighted to announce the sixth annual SPDC Niger Delta Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme for applicants from Rivers, Delta and Bayelsa States. The objective of the scheme is to provide an opportunity for qualifying students from these Niger Delta States to further their education in courses that are relevant to the oil and gas industry.

In the five years of this programme, 50 students have so far benefitted from the opportunity to study at top rated Universities in the UK on an all expenses paid scholarship.

For the academic year commencing September 2015, SPDC will award ten scholarships for one year MSc studies in partnership with three Universities in the UK - Imperial College London, University College, London and the University of Leeds.

2015 SPDC NIGER DELTA OVERSEA POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME

The following courses qualify for the scholarship at the three institutions:

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must:

Display intellectual ability and leadership potentialMeet the individual University’s English language requirements (usually at least 6.5 in IELTS score valid for Sept 2015 admission). Please note that TOEFL is no longer recognised by most UK universities. Candidates are advised that failure to meet each University’s English language requirement first time at the time of selection will invalidate their application.Be aged between 21-28 years by 30th September, 2015Be an indigene of Rivers, Delta or Bayelsa States (documentary proof of this will be required)Currently reside in NigeriaReturn to Nigeria on completion of the proposed programme of studyHave obtained a university degree (at least of equivalent standard to a UK Second Class Upper (Honours Degree)Not have studied previously in’ the UK or any other developed countryHave a Nigerian international passport valid to end December 2016Be neither a current nor former employee (who has left employment less than 5 years before) of SPDC, the Royal Dutch Shell Group of Companies, SCS or Karamat ltd;Not be a spouse, child or ward of staff of Shell Companies in Nigeria, SCS or Karamat ltd

Method of Application

Nigeria LNG Limited Post-Graduate Scholarship Scheme 2015

Applications are now being accepted into the Nigeria LNG Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme for entry into Masters Programmes in the United Kingdom in September 2015.

Criteria for Award

Potential beneficiaries must:

Be entering into a Master’s programme in Engineering, Geosciences, Environmental Sciences,  Management Sciences, Information Technology, Law and Medicine.Possess a 2nd Class Upper degree in a relevant field of studyHave completed the NYSC programme.Be no more than 30 years of ageBe Nigerian nationals resident in NigeriaProvide identification documents from their LGAsPossess an international travel passport valid for at least one year after September 2015Provide evidence that they are available to travel in September 2015 if selected

The Application Process

The application form is to be completed and submitted along with a coloured recent passport photo of the applicant. Documents are not to be attached to the form as these will not be accepted. Applications into the NLNG Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme will be received only via email at nlngpgscholarship@ng.britishcouncil.org. Exceptions will be given only to applicants with ‘special needs’.

Application deadline is midnight on Friday, 21st November 2014. Applications received after this time will not be accepted.

National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN) recruitment, April 2014

Candidates must possess a University degree, minimum of second class lower division in Mass Communication/Humanities/Social Sciences and must be computer literate with minimum of five (5)years cognate working experience.Membership of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations is required and possession of higher degrees will be an added advantage.

The appointment is pensionable. Other conditions of service are as stipulated in the regulations governing the conditions of service of the College which are in line with what is applicable in the Public Service.

Please do not attach any documents to the completed application form. Only application forms accompanied by a single passport photograph will be considered.

The Selection Process
Candidates whose applications are successful will be invited to sit for a test. On the basis of the results of the test, applicants will be invited for interviews from which the final selection will be made.
