Reporting Accountant

Role Summary/Purpose:     

As an Accountant with some experience you will be responsible for supporting more senior accountants, performing and reviewing basic accounting entries. At this level you will be expected to explain variations in accounts and work with auditors on process improvements. You will follow an individual work plan and meets day-to-day short term objectives. In addition, you would be responsible for financial reporting.

Essential Responsibilities:    

Prepare and review account reconciliations

Prepare and review journal entries ensuring compliance with local accounting procedures and US GAAP

Drive the timely preparation of assigned journal entries driving increased efficiency

Prepare periodic balance sheet analysis

Engage with auditors to answer questions in regards to control processes and account reconciliations

Prepare analysis and explanations behind variations for financial reporting

Qualifications/Requirements:          

Bachelors?'s degree from an accredited university or college in accounting or finance or equivalent with at 3-5 years of experience in an accounting or finance role

Must be a Chartered accountant

Audit Experience is an added advantage

Responsibilities
Develop a strong understanding of business requirements; working with business users/ business analysts to define technical and process requirements As needed, strategically design and implement customer facing systems, including integration with data marts and data warehouses including gathering requirements, design, and roll out of solutions to end users and customers. Design, development, testing and deployment of solutions for (Jaspersoft / Talend) ETL and Jaspersoft Reporting. Envision system features and functionality working in conjunction with a team and develop (Jaspersoft / Talend) ETL process by setting expectations and features priorities throughout the development life cycle. Create (Jaspersoft / Talend) ETL jobs to process data received from internal and external customers and generate the requested various metrics. Responsible for consulting with internal and external customers on business needs, translating needs into analytics/reporting requirements, and interfacing with company and client to ensure successful delivery of client reporting. Work with internal and external customers to analyse large quantities of data and develop reporting templates and models, as well as perform data validation and ad hoc queries. Create and modify reports against SQL databases as per customer requirements. Perform statistical analysis, data mining, extensive visualization and graphing, and development of new methods of reporting. Manage the business intelligence, reporting and correspondence scorecards for one or more internal and external customers. Design, deploy and manage a customer benchmark repository.
